Interracial Relationships

By Debbie Adebayo
I am a white male very interested in a black woman on my job. We are both Christians and seem to have a lot in common. I have tried to ask her out but she declines stating that dating between the two of us could be a career- limiting move for the both of us. What do you think of her viewpoint and should I continue to pursue a relationship with her.
The Question

I am a white male very interested in a black woman on my job.  We are both Christians and seem to have a lot in common.  I have tried to ask her out but she declines stating that dating between the two of us could be a career- limiting move for the both of us.  What do you think of her viewpoint and should I continue to pursue a relationship with her.

 Sanctified Solution

Depending on the corporation, the climate, culture and politics there may be an element of truth to what the woman is saying.  If the relationship is of God however know that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and the Holy Spirit will navigate you through these types of challenges.

Having said that I think that it should also be considered that this maybe this woman's way of telling you she is not interested in pursuing a relationship with you without being direct about it.  I recommend you back off from pursing a relationship with her.  Trust God and if she is the one for you He will move on her heart to be open to you, orchestrate the setting for that to occur and take care of corporate politics that would prevent the relationship from growing and developing.  If she is not a God sent-relationship that's all right too, move on God knows what is best for you.
